What kinds of foods are good for your vision?

Eating the right kind of foods is important to obtain good vision. The food we eat for obtaining a healthy body also helps to make our eyes healthier. Poor vision is mostly associated with hereditary factors and aging, but according to Dr. William Boothe of Boothe Laser Center, you can minimize vision loss by including healthy food in your daily diet. You can add green leaves, garlic and dark chocolate in your daily food to maintain your body as well as eye health. Having such types of food along with eye exercises will definitely enhance your eyesight.

All of us know that carrots are great for the improvement of your eye sight. Vegetables will provide you with strong and healthy eyes as Vitamin A is present in vegetables (it is a kind of Beta Carotene). Beta Carotene helps to transform body fat into energy. Salmon contain Omega-3 fatty acids at higher levels along with Vitamin A and Vitamin D which are all helpful in improving eye health and brain power. Regular intake of garlic will help the eye lenses to become flexible and strong because sulfur content is high in garlic. Dark chocolate have antioxidant properties as it contains flavanoids. Flavanoids are helpful in protecting the blood vessels of the eyes, and thereby the lens and cornea remains strong even you become old.

Leafy vegetables like spinach, kale and broccoli are rich in minerals and vitamins that contribute eye health. Spinach is rich in antioxidants which are necessary for the protection of eye from degenerating. The Anthocyanins that are present in the grapes and blueberries help you to improve the night vision. Egg is an important food for your eye vision as it contain proteins and essential nutrients which keeps them health and strong. Zinc, B-vitamins, fatty acids and lutein present in the eggs are helpful in improving the overall health of your eyes.

Consumption of apricots can also help in promoting better vision of your eyes as they can protect your eyes from free radicals. Carotenoids present in the apricots are helpful in enhancing eye vision. The huge amounts of vitamin E present in the nuts are helpful in preventing the cataracts and other symptoms of eye problems. Soy beans are helpful in fighting again visual disorders as soy beans have high protein content that are necessary for the strengthening of eye muscles. Soy beans also contain vitamin E, phytoestrogen, fatty acids and other natural ingredients that are helpful to prevent the eyes from any kind of inflammation.

Avocados contain lutein that helps in preventing cataracts and macular degeneration. Avocados also contain great amount of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. By drinking at least eight glasses of water daily, you can prevent red eyes and dry eyes. Apart from water, vegetables and fruits, supplements such as mineral and vitamins also help in improving your eye health. Some of the essential supplements that can be taken for obtaining healthy eyes are Beta-carotene, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Alpha Lipoic Acid, DHA, Lutein, N-Acetyl Cysteine, Selenium, Silymarin, Chromium, Magnesium and Zinc. By consuming the above mentioned foods, you can improve your eyesight naturally.
