Infection is a Rare But Serious Risk after LASIK

Permalink 04:16:48 pm, Categories: Boothe Laser Center

For those considering LASIK to permanently correct their eyesight, it’s important to remember that there are risks involved with the procedure. After all, LASIK is surgery, and every surgical procedure has inherent risks. However, LASIK has one of the lowest occurrence of risks and complications compared to nearly all other surgical procedures.
One risk of LASIK is developing an eye infection after the procedure. While eye infections after LASIK are somewhat rare, they can happen. They tend to happen as a result of improperly caring for your eyes after the procedure. It is important that you follow Dr. Boothe’s instructions after your LASIK surgery, to make sure that you avoid an infection.
If you do happen to experience redness and oozing of your eyes after LASIK, and possibly eye pain, you should come back to Boothe Laser Center immediately. Dr. Boothe can prescribe eye drops and oral medications to clear up your eye infection. It’s important to treat it right away, so your eyes aren’t damaged by the infection.
Before your procedure, Dr. Boothe will review the proper care of your eyes after LASIK, to help ensure that you don’t have any issues such as infections after surgery.

How Contact Lenses Can Damage Your Vision

Permalink 01:31:59 pm, Categories: Boothe Laser Center

Your eyesight is precious to you. You don’t want to do anything that would create unnecessary risks for your vision. That’s why you should consider giving up your contact lenses.
Contact lenses are an easy and effective way to see clearly, but they come with a high level of risk of eye infection. It is extremely easy to introduce bacteria and other organisms into your eye, which can lead to a serious, possibly vision threatening infection. Handling your lenses just one time without properly washing your hands puts your vision at risk.

Your vision can even be at risk when you handle your lenses properly. That’s because the companies that make contact lens solutions occasionally release a batch that is contaminated with bacteria. Just think, you could lose your eyesight from an infection, even when you are doing everything correctly.

That’s why if you are serious about protecting your eyes and want to have clear vision, you should consider LASIK surgery at Boothe Laser Center. When you have your procedure performed by Dr. William Boothe, one of the most experienced surgeons in the world, you have a low risk of complications and a high chance for success. Once you review the odds of developing problems with your contacts, you’ll want to make an appointment for your free LASIK consultation today.

If you’ve ever complained about having to wear glasses or contacts to correct your vision, you might be interested in knowing that there is a different way to improve your eyesight. Millions of people around the world have undergone LASIK to permanently correct their vision, and have been able to throw away their glasses forever.
Have you ever heard of LASIK? LASIK is a simple surgical procedure performed by Dr. William Boothe at Boothe Laser Center. It is an outpatient procedure, and just takes a few minutes per eye to complete. During LASIK, Dr. Boothe cuts a small flap in the cornea and uses a laser to gently reshape the tissue underneath. Once the cornea flap has been reattached, you will be able to see clearly again, like you did before you needed glasses.
Before you can undergo the LASIK procedure, Dr. Boothe must review your current vision, eye health, and go over the procedure with you. This is so he can see if your eyes are healthy, and so you will know what to expect. You set up an appointment for a free LASIK consultation at Boothe Laser Center.
